TheTrainline is the leading independent retailer of train tickets, with over 8.4 million registered users, our websites and call-centres account for nearly 18% of national ticket revenues (excluding season tickets).
TheTrainline was the first impartial train retailer to sell train tickets online with its Internet service launched in early 1999.

• Train Operating Companies – we provide services to 14 of the 18 franchised train operating companies, including own brand websites and advanced contact centre solutions.
• Ticketing Systems – Trainline has developed its own powerful range of ticketing systems, which include our core customer management and booking engine; our range of ticket collection kiosks and printers for corporate customers; and our innovative "print@home" and Mobitix fulfilment solutions.
• Smartcards – through our Ecebs subsidiary we are a leading player in transport smartcards – including advanced capabilities for delivering smartcard products over the internet, and combining multiple smartcard applications on a single card.

• Corporate travel service - for larger companies our corporate travel service provides a fully managed solution, comprising of bespoke rail booking tools, comprehensive management information and ticket printers in your offices.
• Travel Management Companies - we offer a specifically designed rail booking solution to TMCs, which is accessible via the Internet. This solution enables an agent to quickly book a rail ticket on behalf of the traveller.
• Season Tickets – we provide season ticket solutions for train operating companies, and corporate account holders.
• Ticket Alert – receive an email as soon as advance tickets are available to buy.
Innovation
From our origins in 1997, innovation has been at the heart of TheTrainline. We’re currently busily working on the biggest overhaul and enhancement of our website since it first launched in 1999, which will deliver exciting new features and make it even easier to use.
In addition to our website, we are actively working on new developments including:
• SmartCard
We recently acquired Ecebs who specialise in software for smartcard systems and applications. This acquisition will enable TheTrainline to pioneer smartcard technology for the whole of the train industry.
• Mobitix
TheTrainline’s Mobitix service allows travellers to have tickets delivered directly to their mobile phone.
• Print@Home
TheTrainline’s "Print at Home" service allows customers to print their train tickets at home on ordinary plain paper.
