Birmingham New Street (BHM): This major hub of the British Railway system is Birmingham's main station. Major city destinations include London Euston, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle, with trains also running to Scotland, Wales and East Anglia. The four train operating companies using this station are Arriva Trains Wales, CrossCountry, London Midland and Virgin Trains.

Birmingham Snow Hill (BSW): Trains from this station run to London Marleybone, Stratford upon Avon, Shirley, Dorridge, Stourbridge Junction, Kidderminster and Worcester amongst others.

Birmingham Moor Street (BMO): Services from this station go to London Marylebone, Stratford-upon-Avon and to Leamington, but not directly to Birmingham New Street.

Birmingham has many smaller railway stations as well as the Midland Metro, a light-rail tram system.
