Trains to Edinburgh

Edinburgh has two main stations and ten minor stations:

Edinburgh Waverley (EDB): This main station runs East Coast Main Line express trains (primarily to London King's Cross and Birmingham New Street), local stopping services to North Berwick and services to Newcraighall. Trains also run through Haymarket station to Glasgow and many other stations. Trains are run by National Express East Coast, TransPennine Express, CrossCountry, Virgin Trains and FirstScotRail.

Haymarket (HYM): This major commuter and long-distance station serves parts of Scotland in the West and North of Edinburgh (including Fife and Glasgow), with local lines to the East. It also serves the trunk route down the West Coast of England.

Other stations in Edinburgh include Brunstane, Curriehill, Dalmeny, Edinburgh Park, Kingsknowe, Newcraighall, Shawfair, Slateford, South Gyle and Wester Hailes. These minor stations primarily run local services in and around Edinburgh, with many of them also running services to Glasgow Central.
