Travel management innovator, Click Travel, has teamed up with the UK's leading rail retailer, TheTrainline, to enhance its one-stop-shop online booking proposition.
TheTrainline's ticket booking system has been integrated into Click Travel's unique web-based Travel Manager application, allowing Click customers to enjoy a seamless online rail booking experience.
By using Trainline Connect, the rail retailer's API, Click Travel are able to fully integrate rail content into their own online self booking tool. This has enabled Click Travel to customise their online rail retailing. Additionally, by using Trainline Connect Click Travel have access to a range of fulfilment options including 'Ticket on Departure' and on-site printing capability. The modern interface technology provides Click Travel with detailed management information reporting, a choice of payment facilities and clear ticketing options that allow the cheapest fare to be selected.
Simon McLean, managing director of Click Travel, said: "For too long many travel management companies have neglected their rail offering, citing difficulties with the search and booking process. By integrating TheTrainline content into our online platform we are adding yet more flexibility and choice for our customers.
"Set against a turbulent economic outlook for British businesses, the need to rationalise business travel and manage costs has never been more important. By integrating Trainline Connect's modern interface with our own technology we are enabling our clients to do exactly that."
Adrian Watts, sales and distribution director for TheTrainline, added: "Click Travel's migration to TheTrainline highlights how we are continuing to grow our business in the online travel management market. It demonstrates that TMCs are attracted to the TheTrainline because of the efficient service we provide, and are not just moving their business in light of the demise of Elgar.
"Click Travel is an example of another forward thinking TMC recognising the cost and time efficiencies that TheTrainline's offering can give to its business, not least through over 293 million fare and journey combinations and our carbon emissions reporting tool, which is based on Defra-approved guidelines."
